Before the January window opens, Tim Steidten receives his response to Evan Ferguson at West Ham.

Fabian Hurzeler has announced that Evan Ferguson will remain at Brighton in January, thus Tim Steidten will have to start again at West Ham United.

Ferguson has become dissatisfied with his playing time at the Amex, and Brighton had agreed to approve a January loan departure, according to TBR Football [26 November] this seems to no longer be the case, though.

According to BBC Sport [28 November], Hurzeler responded to enquiries over the wantaway forward during his pregame press conference and stated that he expects Ferguson to stay and compete for his spot at the Seagulls.

“I don’t know where this information comes from because I told Evan that I’m glad he’s here with the team,” he stated “I am pleased with his training and the physical and mental condition he is in He obviously needs game time because he is a young player.
