The second half of Brighton’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City may have given supporters a fleeting look into the near future.
Albion began the game with Jack Hinshelwood and Yasin Ayari in the midfield, but Carlos Baleba and Matt O’Riley were used to end the game against Pep Guardiola’s champions.
Ayari and Hinshelwood both played well, like they did at Liverpool, but Baleba and O’Riley were brought on because of Ayari’s first-half booking and Hinshelwood’s feared knee injury.
