After Portsmouth defeated Preston North End 3-1 this past weekend to welcome Colby Bishop’s homecoming, supporters will feel more optimistic about their chances of surviving.
Bishop, whose return was a complete surprise until the 2pm line-up announcements, made his comeback by netting a late penalty to secure his team’s third goal.
Bishop had been out since a routine pre-season cardiac check revealed a significant condition requiring surgery.
Given his ability to score goals in League One the previous season, many supporters believe Bishop has been the missing component for John Mousinho’s team, who have had difficulty scoring goals this season.
Then, his return might be crucial, but it would also mean the end for Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Mark O’Mahony, who hasn’t contributed the way Bishop has needed him to.
In light of Colby Bishop’s growth, Brighton might want Mark O’Mahony to return from Portsmouth.
