Although Regis Le Bris’ team had defensive problems and drew their third straight Championship match, there was one striker who did not contribute to the goals but had an outstanding performance that Sunderland supporters have been more than happy to watch since the 2024–2025 season began.

The amount of threat that Sunderland poses on both flanks is one notable difference between the current campaign and the 2023–24 campaign. Patrick Roberts has undoubtedly contributed to that down the right, but nothing has been able to match Romaine Mundle’s influence thus far.
