Paul Scholes’ recent statement that Aston Villa manager Unai Emery “would walk” to Manchester United if offered the managing position has been rejected by Don Goodman.
While United was looking for a successor for Erik ten Hag, who has since been replaced by Ruben Amorim, Scholes made the remark on The Overlap [28 October].
But according to Goodman, if Emery had been contacted by United, there would have been no compelling reason for him to switch from Villa Park to Old Trafford.
“With my Manchester United hat on, I can see where Paul Scholes is coming from,” Goodman said to Villa News.
