Following their first league victory away from home in the 2024–25 Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday night, head coach Paul Warne feels his Derby County team put on a show to be proud of…

Derby picked up their first three away points of the season with a 2-1 victory over Coventry City. In addition to Liam Thompson and Dajaune Brown, who made their first starts of the current Championship campaign, Jerry Yates scored twice to lead the Rams to victory at the Coventry Building Society Arena After his team defeated the Sky Blues, Warne spoke with RamsTV.

Gaining an away victory is fantastic. We performed pretty well, in my opinion. Although we occasionally rode our luck, I felt that overall, we put out a very strong effort. We made excellent opportunities. I’m quite pleased with the boys.

We clearly modified our shape before the game, and we didn’t have much time to practise. My coaches and everyone else behind the scenes deserve some recognition for it as well, and some new blood also helped.

In my opinion, Dajaune Brown was outstanding during his league debut, and Liam Thompson was outstanding in midfield Kenzo Goudmijn, in my opinion, was at his best in a long time; his lack of rest during the previous game helped him.

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who came tonight. Before the game, I went to give them a round of applause, but there were no empty seats.

You could actually feel them in the stadium when I asked them to be loud for the boys. The boys literally let out a gasp for the audience. I would have been extremely pleased of everyone’s effort tonight, including the supporters, even if we had lost in the final seconds or something.
