Rangers would gladly welcome the Englishman back to the Scottish club, according to Ally McCoist, but Steven Gerrard’s coaching career reached a new low when he was jeered by Al-Ettifaq supporters after their 2-0 loss to Al-Qadsiah on Saturday.
With only three victories in their first nine games, the Liverpool legend’s team is currently ranked eleventh in the Saudi Pro-League. Following Saturday’s defeat against Al-Qadsiah, his own fans began to taunt him due to his poor play, and it was clear that they were growing impatient with him.
If the results don’t improve, there are rumours that he might be fired soon, which would put him back on the coaching market. McCoist thinks Gerrard would have the backing of Gers supporters if he returned to Glasgow after winning the Scottish Premiership with Rangers.
