The Athletic’s Jovan Buha became the latest person to connect the Los Angeles Lakers to Utah Jazz big man Walker Kessler a few days ago when he reported that Los Angeles has been interested in the 23-year-old.
The 23-year-old rested. When asked to list reasonable trade targets for the Lakers before the trade deadline, Buha responded, “That’s a really good question.” We need more time to sort of see which guys become available, in my opinion I believe the Lakers have shown interest in Walker Kessler.
I believe it would make a lot of sense and enable you to either start a two-big look or, more realistically, come him off the bench and play two-big shifts. In some games, he and A.D. (Anthony Davis) would obviously close with two bigs.
However, Sam Amick, one of Buha’s coworkers at The Athletic, has offered an update on the Kessler issue that isn’t particularly encouraging.
