Former Premier League player and pundit Jermaine Jenas has urged Leeds United to invest in a top striker with “proper money” in order to compete at a higher level in the Premier League.
Jenas believes that Leeds’ current attacking options are not sufficient for the club to push for a top-six finish in the league and that they need to bring in a proven goal scorer to take them to the next level.
He stated, “They need to spend proper money on a proper striker who can get them goals. Bamford’s a great player, but he’s not the player who’s going to propel them into that next level. They need someone who’s going to get you 20-25 goals a season.”
Leeds United have been linked with a number of strikers in recent transfer windows, but have yet to make a big-money signing in that position. Jenas believes that this is something the club needs to address in order to continue their progression in the Premier League.
