According to reports, Coventry City is thinking about signing Matty James, a former midfielder for Barnsley. Following his release from Bristol City at the conclusion of the 2023–2024 season, the 33-year-old is currently a free agent. Coming from Leicester City, he made over 100 appearances for the Robins after moving to Ashton Gate in 2021. James, a well-known figure in South Yorkshire, had two successful loan stints at Barnsley while playing for the Foxes.
