Two-time Olympic and four-time world champion Kaleigh Gilchrist has declared her retirement from the women’s national squad of USA Water Polo. The Newport Beach, California native, who has competed in three Olympics, will call it a career after the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. It’s a bittersweet day for me as I formally retire from water polo today. When I first stepped onto the Newport Harbor pool deck as an eight-year-old, I had no idea where the sport would lead.
