The most successful driver in Formula One history is having difficulty adjusting to the demands of his equipment for the first time. In his most forthright and self-critical moments, Hamilton has said that he has “sucked” at qualifying for a while and that he finds driving the current generation of Formula One cars to be “really frustrating.” However, the pre-August formbook appears to indicate differently. Hamilton ended a nearly three-year winless streak in the British Grand Prix by winning again in Belgium, albeit under somewhat peculiar circumstances. Earlier, he had lost to teammate George Russell’s unconventional strategy while racing on the road, but he was able to reclaim the victory when Russell was disqualified for being underweight.
