After scoring the equalising goal as Derby County qualified for Round, Liam Thompson acknowledged that he had been eager to add more goals to his game.

The Rams came out on top against Paul Cook’s Spireites, with a 2-1 win, at Pride Park Stadium.

Thompson equalised for Derby in the 37th minute with a sweet strike from distance that nestled into the top right corner of the net before Kayden Jackson secured the win for Derby in the second half after coming off the bench.

The Academy graduate caught up with RamsTV after the game to discuss getting the side’s first win of the season on the board.
