Caitlin Clark gets a bodyguard: I’m going back to the WNBA to protect her

Angel McCoughtry is ready to take action and defend Caitlin Clark against cheap shots. The seasoned WNBA player has announced her willingness to join the Indiana Fever to ensure Clark receives the protection she deserves on the court.

McCoughtry spoke on the “TMZ Sports” TV show after Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter’s rough play against Clark stirred up conversation throughout the basketball community.

Angel stressed the need for teammates in the WNBA to support and protect one another, especially in the face of aggressive and unsportsmanlike behavior.

Having been the number one overall pick in 2009, a five-time WNBA All-Star, and a two-time scoring champion, McCoughtry is serious about her commitment to return to the league.

She aims to bring her veteran experience and fierce loyalty back to the court, ready to stand up for players like Clark.

“Take care of your players. All of y’all,” she noted.

“I don’t care who it is. If somebody is dragging your player down by the neck, I’m in your face. ‘What the hell are you doing?’ Hey, we can go have lunch later, but right now we’re competing. Don’t grab my player like that.

“Someone sign me! I’ll make sure, I’m a vet and I’ll make sure I defend and do what I gotta do.
