Breaking newsHugh Dallas outlines the Celtic VAR influence he noticed as Rangers told of ‘procedure’ on one penalty complain.

Former top referee Hugh Dallas admits he immediately noticed how VAR affected Celtic, but it had nothing to do with rulings! Instead, Dallas observed how the Scottish champions were forced to alter their style of play when technology disturbed their rhythm. The use of video technology in Scottish football has been a hot subject since its debut in October 2021, with Hibernian’s match versus St Johnstone being the first Premiership game to incorporate VAR. JustAnd Dallas believes the Hoops were immediately forced to modify their strategy during the Postecoglou era, with Angeball’s frenetic attacking style stifled by the time it took referees to make judgments on the field. After Dundee manager Tony Docherty revealed he had to change his team to deal with VAR, Dallas told BBC Sportsound: “I don’t have the experience these men have with playing, but after the first month that it was introduced, I all of a sudden realized how it affected Celtic.
