BREAKING NEWS: Unseen Mohamed Diomande furious as Rangers star hauled away by the shirt to avoid a Celtic rammy.

Furious Captain James Tavernier hauled Mohamed Diomande away by the shirt from a potential Celtic uproar in the Scottish Cup Final.

The enraged Rangers player, who was subsequently subjected to a VAR review for aggressive behavior in additional time, was outraged when referee Nick Walsh awarded his challenge on Greg Taylor as a free kick. He dashed towards a group of Celtic players, but Tavernier was on there to physically remove him from the scene.

Jack Butland then spoke with the 22-year-old, who will convert his loan from Nordsjaelland into a permanent £4.5 million deal this summer. That was followed by a conversation with Alistair Johnston before the action restarted at Hampden. Diomande has been a valuable asset since his debut, with his combative streak and propensity to mix it up in the engine room attracting the attention.

Boss Philippe Clement was forced to firefight at the final whistle, removing Nico Raskin and Todd Cantwell from harm as they challenged the toss with the match officials. But the Belgian was not pleased either. Following the defeat, Clement stated: “If you score goals and they are disallowed in that manner, that is also a disappointment at the time. When I compare it to the shove Scales gave Dujon Sterling in the first half, it was a far bigger push than what Joe Hart received tonight.

“If I also see how all the Celtic defenders are grabbing my players and having their arms around their neck and around their waist…it’s a really big call to make to disallow the goal.”
