BREAKING NEWS: Rangers are “about to sign” a big upgrade on Davies

Glasgow Rangers and Phillippe Clement made their first signing of the summer transfer window before the end of their 2023/24 campaign last week.

The Brazilian left-back Jefte was declared as a permanent Fluminense signing, and he will now prepare to join his new squad for preseason later this year.

The left-footed talent, who has recently spent the current season on loan with APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus, is expected to battle with Ridvan Yilmaz and Robbie Fraser for the Belgian head coach’s starting left-back position next season.

Clement and Nils Koppen have clearly been working hard to ensure that they can complete transactions early in the transfer window in order to prepare the squad for the 2024/25 season.

Along with Jefte, Rangers are allegedly looking to add another left-footed defender to the group this summer to strengthen their backline.

According to Bulgarian outlet TopSport, central defender Jose Cordoba was scheduled to have a physical with the Scottish giants on Monday before signing a contract with the club.

According to the source, the Gers are ready to pay €3.2 million (£2.7 million) for the left-footed star, with €2 million (£1.7 million) paid upfront and the remainder in bonuses.

This follows Football Insider’s story that the Levski Sofia star told his buddies that he wants to transfer to Ibrox this summer.

According to their source, the 6-foot-1 ace had an offer from English Championship club Norwich City on the table but felt that a move to Glasgow was the best option for him.
