Celtics defender Alistair Johnston has reacted to a fantastic video of the Celtic fans celebrating Adam Idah’s goal on Saturday. The Irishman scored in the 90th minute, capitalising on an error by Jack Butland, who failed to hold Paulo Bernardo’s effort
The 90th-minute goal prompted spectacular emotions at the Celtic End, which were shared by the Scottish Cup earlier today. On Twitter/X, Johnston wrote, “limbs as usual”.
The players were equally ecstatic, and you could forgive yourself for missing some of their expressions in the thick of the festivities in the East Stand. Cameron Carter-Vickers took a quick nap while Matt O’Riley celebrated wildly on the right side.
Following Scott Wright’s weak touch, Johnston grabbed the ball and sent it to Callum McGregor’s my feet. The captain turned and passed the ball to Daizen, who tapped it down for Bernardo. Celtic made a quick transition from defence to attack, which proved important.
Johnston was outstanding defensively, especially in the final 25 minutes of the game. When faced with Fabio Silva and Rabbi Matondo, the Canadian International stood up to them, tackling hard and being composed in possession. AJ has been an excellent addition to the backline, obviously understanding the club’s philosophy.
