BREAKING NEWS: Inter Miami Signage Ryan Carmichael Signs Short-Term Contract With Inter Miami CF II

Inter Miami CF announced today that forward Ryan Carmichael has signed a short-term contract with the club’s MLS Next Pro team Inter Miami CF II.

Carmichael was the club’s 24th overall pick in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft in December 2023, coming from Hofstra University. The 22-year-old Northern Ireland native made 22 starts, leading Hofstra with 17 goals and five assists. Throughout his collegiate career, the forward appeared in 75 games, scoring 46 goals and assisting 18 times. Carmichael was instrumental in Hofstra’s third consecutive NCAA Championship win and finished as the school’s second all-time leading scorer.

Notably, the striker debuted for MLS Next Pro in April 2024 and has started all seven games since then. In 613 minutes, he has two goals and three assists. Carmichael also won the Goal of Match Week 4 award after receiving more than half of the votes for his outstanding strike against Huntsville City FC in April.

According to MLS rules, short-term agreements allow clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, US Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship, and exhibition games.
