Breaking News; Rangers given a glimmer of optimism about signing £13 million star who ‘wants to go’.

While it appears doubtful that Rangers will win the competition for a midfielder considered ‘one of the greatest in Europe, it appears that the £13 million-rated playmaker will depart this summer.

The Premier League’s heavyweights are also impressed. Of course, they do. Eduard Spertsyan appears to be one of those signings who, like Jota at Celtic, has the potential to go into Scotland and dominate the domestic league.

Suggestions that Spertsyan is one of Europe’s finest offensive midfielders may be premature. He still needs to show himself outside of Russia, after all. However, a player who scored and assisted in double digits in 2022/23 and could do so again in 2023/24 would undoubtedly be an immediate step up from those who came before him at Ibrox.

And that likely includes Tom Lawrence and Todd Cantwell, assuming Spertsyan’s line-breaking, ball-carrying abilities can be recreated on British soil.

“It is not a coincidence that Spertsyan has good statistics,” says former Armenia international Alexander Karapetyan to RB Sport. “He’s proven himself yet again. I hope he can keep making improvement.”

Karapetyan claims to have spoken with the Krasnodar star, Spertsyan, who informed him that he intends to quit Russian football in order to pursue his dream of playing in European competition.

“I communicate with Edik (Spertsyan’s nickname), I know a lot of things,” Karapetyan says. “I hope everything works out for him, and he wants to go to Europe and play in major events.
