Just In as Coventry City is in transfer chase with Celtic and Rangers

Mark Robins may lose a number of his top midfielders this summer, with Callum O’Hare set to go when his contract expires and Ben Sheaf attracting interest from rival clubs.

Journalist Alan Nixon revealed on Patreon that Sheaf is a target for both Ipswich Town and Luton Town this summer – he turned down a move to the latter in the previous window – and Robins has all but conceded that O’Hare will go after turning down a new deal from the club.

If these trades go through, Coventry will need to reconstruct the middle of the field, and they have turned their focus to a Scottish player desired by his own country’s two largest clubs as well as the Swans.

According to Football League World, Swansea, Celtic, and Rangers are all interested in signing the 21-year-old, who will become a free agent in the coming weeks.

The Aberdeen midfielder is still in talks with his club about a new contract, but he is free to speak to other clubs.

Swansea had a £500,000 bid for Barron rejected in the January transfer window, but FLW believes they are still interested in the teenager.

According to the Daily Record, Coventry City and Italian club Bologna are both interested in signing Barron.

According to the Record, any team that signs the Aberdeen academy graduate must pay the Dons a training compensation charge of more than £500,000.

With Sheaf’s popularity on the rise, they must begin compiling a list of potential replacements; Barron should be included.

The young Scot may not be as polished as the other players on that list, but his promise is clear. He enjoys getting on the ball and receiving it from defenders, as well as winning challenges.
