Warnings continued to be issued about the escalating attack in Rafah, which is considered the last haven in Gaza for more than a million civilians and Hamas’ last stronghold. Approximately 300,000 people have evacuated Rafah under evacuation orders from Israel, which claims it must invade to dismantle Hamas and return dozens of captives kidnapped in the Oct. 7 raid against Israel that began the war.
