Lastest Update on Aaron Hickey’s Injury Gives Celtic Duo a Major Euros Advantage

An important boost has been given to Celtic players Anthony Ralston and James Forrest in their quest to represent Scotland at the European Championships in Germany this summer.

Due to Brentford manager Thomas Frank’s injury concerns, Steve Clarke’s hopes that right-back Aaron Hickey would be ready in time for June have been shattered.

In a recent press conference, the manager of the Bees provided an update on the former Hearts player’s condition.

Frank was questioned about the likelihood that Hickey would board the jet to Germany and whether he would be seen again this season.

[Sky Sports] “No, we’re not going to see him,” he stated.

“I don’t think it’s positive, but I’m not Scotland’s manager.”

The right-back position in the Scotland squad is still available because Nathan Patterson is also undergoing treatment.

After being called up along with Patterson and Hickey during the most recent international break, Ralston is presently ranked third in the rankings for the position. Forrest might fill in at right wing-back in a 5-3-2.

The seasoned wide player has been playing well lately and might suit up in a variety of roles for the Scotland squad.

The argument for both Forrest and Ralston to go to the summer competition is stronger given that the Euros squad limit is currently 26 due to injuries.
