Cray Valley PM – who threatened Charlton upset in FA Cup – on brink of Isthmian League title win

Cray Valley PM are on the brink of promotion from the Isthmian League South East Division.

Steve McKimm’s side, who also had an extensive run in the FA Cup before bowing out to Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup first round, have lost just once in the league all season. The Millers thrashed Hythe Town 4-0 last night with two goals from Adam Coombes with Kyrell Lisbie (pictured below), the son of former Addicks striker Kevin, and Julien Anau also on the scoresheet.

Cray only have one match remaining and top the table.

The championship will be assured with a draw at Horndean on Saturday, since Ramsgate, the closest challengers, behind by three points and have a goal differential that is three goals worse.

In November, Cray Valley and Charlton drew, and Lucas Ness’ own goal set up a rematch at their Eltham residence.

Despite Alfie May’s opening goal being nullified by a Lisbie penalty just before halftime, The Addicks emerged victorious 6-1.
