United’s Under 21s made it two wins in just four days on the road as goals all within a 15-minute spell from Levis Pitan, Evan Easton and Ryan Oné put the Blades in command.

 

Charlton Athletic fought back though scoring twice, the second coming in stoppage time to set up a nervous finale.

It should have been more comfortable though as the Blades dominated the first 70 minutes of the game and had a clear chance inside five minutes when youngster Sam Aston pounced on a loose back pass but slotted wide.

 

Billy Blacker tested the goalkeeper who had an excellent game between the posts, and he went on to thwart both Louie Marsh and Owen Hampson before the break

Oné also shot just wide of the post, and the pattern continued until halftime, when centre-back Levis Pitan headed home a Jay Tinsdale corner kick.

 

Aston was the next to be denied when he was passed through, but another corner brought the second, with Tinsdale delivering, this time Evan Easton sending the ball home into the corner.

 

Just two minutes later, Oné stole the goalkeeper and slid home into an empty net, seemingly ending the game, but Charlton responded quickly with a goal from Patrick Casey inside the six-yard box.
