FAYETTEVILE– North Carolina-Charlotte transfer linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green’s interest in Arkansas and the Hogs’ interest in him lured him to Fayetteville for an official visit.

“It was elite pitching and defense on both sides,” Kingston said.
The Razorbacks’ first three hitters reached in the top of the sixth against South Carolina right-hander Ty Good, who replaced starter Roman Kimball after 2 1/3 innings. Ben McLaughlin and Nolan Souza walked against Good and Peyton Holt reached with a bunt single to load the bases with no outs.
After a pitching change to Chris Veach, McLaughlin scored on a one-out wild pitch to tie the game and Arkansas went ahead when Jack Wagner’s sacrifice fly scored Souza.
“That was a great response there in the sixth after a tough fifth inning,” Van Horn said.
Both teams had four hits and Arkansas drew 10 walks. The Razorbacks stranded 14 and South Carolina stranded 10.
Arkansas loaded the bases without a hit in the eighth and ninth innings but stranded three each time. Jayson Jones flied out to end the eighth, and pinch hitter Ryder Helfrick grounded out in the ninth.
The Razorbacks were 1 for 19 with runners on base and 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position. The Gamecocks were 1 for 12 and 1 for 9 in those categories, respectively.

The Razorbacks did just a little more with their scoring opportunity on a night when both pitching staffs worked well with base runners.
