Why the cohesiveness that was present during Brendan Rodgers’ first stint at Celtic hasn’t always been present since his return.

After being “taken aback” on Derby Weekend, Brendan Rodgers sent a significant message to Celtics supporters.

He would acknowledge it right away. As a result of his 2019 departure to Leicester City, there would inevitably be supporters who weren’t satisfied with him replacing Ange Postecoglou.

But unity is now crucial as Celtic aim for a league and cup double to transform a wild campaign into a very successful one.

That was never clearer than it was before the derby at Celtic Park last week, when a large crowd gathered to see the squad bus depart.

The team relished the opportunity, and Rodgers has expressed how crucial it was for the Celtic team travelling to Ibrox.

Brendan Rodgers' big message to Celtic fans after being "taken aback" on derby weekend

During this past weekend’s Celtic FC YouTube media conference, he stated: “It had a big impact.” It was truly astounding. They informed me that a few hundred people will be present to welcome us.

Then I received a call informing me that they had made a calculation error and that there were a few more. It was a big boost, therefore, when I turned on the lights and saw everyone. Was I surprised by it? No. The club offers amazing assistance.

They gave us a wonderful send-off even if they couldn’t be at the stadium. It was very incredible. I, too, was surprised by it, as were several of the new men. It was really helpful to us as we drove away.

Rodgers calls for fans to “keep the faith”

Before this string of extremely significant games, Rodgers was asked what advice he would give the Celtics supporters. He said, “Just keep the faith.” Continue providing us with your amazing support; it truly does make a difference.

There will undoubtedly be tense moments in each of the six games as well as the cup match. Simply maintain your trust, stick with the group, and give it your all—on the pitch, we’ll return the favour.

It is important for fans to stick with the players, especially if Celtic loses an early goal or the game is tied 0-0.

Even at home, it’s quite easy for worry and anxiety to permeate the mood in the stands, but this club has what it takes to go on a winning streak. It will help to make sure they are in an atmosphere that supports their best selves.

It’s obvious that Rodgers believes he and his team can use the energy of the fans to achieve the achievement that everyone aspires to.
