Orlando Pirates will release at least three senior strikers at the end of this campaign. Does that make space for new blood?

Two strikers to follow Kermit through the Orlando Pirates exit door?

The contract with the Bucs for Kermit Erasmus, 33, expires in June of this year. Last week, a source close to Soccer-Laduma said that the club is inclined to release the former striker for Feyenoord, Rennes, Lens, Sundowns, and SuperSport, but they will make a decision about his future sooner rather than later. The fates of Bafana Bafana player Zakhele Lepasa and Cameroonian sensation Souaibou Marou are also very much in doubt. Marou is desired in Europe, while Lepasa isn’t a feasible long-term number nine ahead of Evidence Makgopa due to his inconsistent nature.

“The Pirates will make decisions about Erasmus’s future when the season ends and they start planning for next year,” the insider stated.

Hanamub Responds to Pirates Interest - iDiski Times

Ironically, before making his major breakthrough in South Africa with Jomo Cosmos, fullback Riaan Hanamub of Namibia began his career at a team called Orlando Pirates Windhoek. Hanamub has made 110 appearances in Dstv Premiership games, including his time with AmaZulu. This includes two playoff assignments with the Chilli Boys for promotion and relegation. Would he be a better choice than Thabiso Monyane and Bandile Shandu, the current options?

Three years of a contract had been offered to him. That is the first of them. When he joins the club in the off-season, they will talk about the other difficulties. As you are aware, he is 29 years old. He will turn 32 in 2027, and he will still be eligible to renew at that point. However, that is the player’s offer, and while the remaining matters are between the clubs, the transaction is effectively completed at that point.
