Aston Villa 3-3 Brentford highlights, reaction and ratings from six-goal thriller

During Aston Villa’s Premier League match against Brentford FC at Villa Park, Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa celebrates his team’s third goal.

This afternoon (3pm kickoff) in the Premier League, Aston Villa takes on Brentford. Unai Emery’s team is looking to win big to advance to the Champions League.

In their eight league travels to Villa Park, the Bees have lost three and drawn five of their road games against the Villains. In addition, Brentford has dropped 11 of their previous 12 Premier League games against teams that began the day in the top five of the standings, including all eight of these games this year.

Villa has a great chance to close the gap with Tottenham, who are now in fifth position.

Emery will be boosted by the return of his captain John McGinn after he missed the last three games through suspension. Emi Martinez is also in line to return after he missed the defeat to City due to illness. Ollie Watkins could also start from the off this afternoon after picking up a hamstring injury during the win over Wolves last weekend. Matty Cash remains sidelined and Jacob Ramsey has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Brentford forward Kevin Schade could feature for the first time since September, while Bryan Mbeumo, who has featured as a substitute in the Bees’ last three games, could start. Ethan Pinnock, Christian Norgaard and Aaron Hickey remain sidelined, while Ben Mee, Ethan Pinnock and Rico Henry are long-term absentees.
