A pair of individuals have been convicted of engaging in fraudulent trade concerning a ticket hawking company that took advantage of music enthusiasts’ enthusias and devotion.
Following their involvement in Norfolk-based TQ Tickets Ltd., which sold tickets worth over £6.5 million on secondary ticketing sites in two and a half years, Lynda Chenery and Mark Woods were found guilty on Wednesday at Leeds Crown Court.
The trial heard how Maria Chenery-Woods, the sister of Woods, ran TQ Tickets. Her company used several identities, some of which were false, to purchase a lot of tickets for artists like Little Mix and Ed Sheeran on primary ticketing sites like Ticketmaster and then resell them on secondary ticketing platforms like Viagogo.
Following their guilty pleas to the charges, Chenery-Woods and her ex-husband Paul Douglas will now be sentenced at a later time.
They were a part of a dishonest plan that took advantage of the passion and affection that many of us feel for our favorite pop bands and musicians, such as Ed Sheeran, over a period of years.
