could get a little break when they play the Houston Rockets tonight, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Due to their fight, Jabari Smith Jr. of Houston (one game) and Kris Dunn of Utah (two games) have both received suspensions.

The Rockets’ game against the Utah Jazz on Saturday saw Smith Jr., the third overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, sent off for punching former Blazers guard Kris Dunn during the second quarter. With the Rockets riding an eight-game winning streak, Smith Jr. is averaging 13.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season as they attempt to advance to the Play-In Tournament.

Portland will benefit greatly from Smith Jr.’s absence tonight, especially since they will be missing Anfernee Simons, Deandre Ayton, Jerami Grant, Matisse Thybulle, Malcolm Brogdon, and Shaedon Sharpe.

The Blazers and Rockets will tip off at 5 p.m. PT.
