At the 2018 African Games in Ghana, Team Nigeria has won four gold medals in the athletics competition.
Nigeria’s gold medal tally in Ghana continues to grow thanks to Chidi Okezie, who on Wednesday defeated all odds to take first place in the men’s 400-meter race.
In the men’s 400-meter final, Okezie, who has been battling mightily to win a continental title, turned in a breathtaking performance, breaking his personal best time by 45.06 seconds.
To win the gold, Okezie overcame Muzala Samukonga of Zambia, one of the fastest men in the world over this distance.
