Craig Burley reckons Mauricio Pochettino should have taken his time before taking Chelsea job

Mauricio Pochettino has rushed himself into Chelsea’s job and is now bearing the brunt of it, and he feels the Argentine manager is now regretting taking the job this early.

Pochettino was appointed before the start of the season after going through an extensive round of talks with the club’s board. Chelsea were convinced Pochettino is the right man to take charge of this disorganised squad and will change the fortunes of the club.

Fast forward to here, and the Blues are languishing in 11th place in the table, and the inexperience of the squad has been a key issue that has seen them struggle to win the matches. However, aside from their Premier League performance, the Blues have done quite well in domestic cup competitions and are semi-finalists in the FA Cup.

However, Burley feels Pochettino should have taken his time before taking the Chelsea job. Speaking to ESPN, he said:

‘’He thought he could come in and make all the managers make a difference, but thus far he hasn’t really, and now that you see some of the managers leaving and getting fired, he may have been stepping back and putting a stop and taking his time, but he threw himself into it, and he knew where he was getting himself into. And now he is suffering the same fate the other managers were going through.’’However, Burley feels Pochettino should have taken his time before taking the Chelsea job. Speaking to ESPN, he said:
